How to Draw A PS4 Controller

Step 1

In this first step of our guide to drawing a PS4 controller, we’ll keep things simple. To start, let’s draw the top of the controller.

This will be a single line, but it will only be straight for reasons you’ll see in the next few steps.

Using the reference image as a guide, you can draw two indented lines with some slightly curved ends.

Once this line is drawn, we will add more to the image in the next few steps.

Step 2

Now that the top of the PS4 controller drawing is done, we can add more in this step.

Again, we’re going to keep things simple for this step. All we’re going to do is add two lines to create the controller parts that will rest on the palms.

To do this, draw a rounded line that curves inward from each edge of the top of the controller at the bottom. That’s all there is to this step, and now we can proceed.

Step 3

In this third step of our guide on how to draw a PS4 controller, you will add some details to the controller.

First, let’s add some curved lines at the bottom of the two pointed sides of the controller that you drew in the previous step.

Once these lines are drawn, let’s add a rectangular shape to the top center of the controller.

This rectangle forms the controller’s touchpad, and this piece serves many functions while gaming.

Step 4

We can now complete the outline drawing of your PS4 controller and add some buttons and other parts.

First, draw a medium-sized circle at the controller’s base between the two handles.

There should also be a small gap between these circles, but you can fill it by drawing a straight line between them.

Then you can draw a smaller circle inside each of these circles, forming the analog sticks of the PS4 controller.

Next, draw a small circle between the analog sticks. Once that’s done, the last things we’ll add to the controller will be two larger circles near the top corners of the controller.

Finally, add the shoulder buttons by drawing a small flat shape on either side of the top of the PS4 controller.

Step 5

We can finish the final details in this step of our guide on drawing a PS4 controller. First, draw four small circles inside the circle you drew on the top right.

For the top left circle, you can draw four corner buttons for the controller’s D-pad.

The rest of the details we’re going to add will be minor. You can start by drawing two vertical lines on the touchpad.

Next, draw another circle around each of the inner circles of the analog stick. You can also draw a few lines along each PS4 controller grip to show the curvature of each one. Finally, draw a small vertical oval shape on both sides of the touchpad.

Lastly, draw the symbols inside each round button at the top right. If you want to colour your drawing, you can use paint. Otherwise, you can draw it.
